This is our most festive looking monkey amigurumi to date!  For those of you who are wondering, yes, we are missing one monkey.  But don’t worry, our November monkey amigurumi will not be left out.  Promise!

Our Santa Claus monkey amigurumi sits proudly on display in front of our Christmas tree.  All the little Christmas decorations we collected over the years really came in handy for this photo shoot.  The little house was just the right size for taking pictures with the Santa monkey amigurumi. Time for some side views!

Since we couldn’t find a small white pom pom for the tip of the hat, we had to crochet a tiny ball out of another type of fuzzy yarn.  Not as round as a pom pom would have been, but it still works right?  :)

For this monkey, we did some things differently…like the green hands and feet.  We wanted our Santa Claus monkey amigurumi to look like it was actually wearing gloves and boots.  Then to top it all off, we just lined them with some fuzzy wires.

What’s also special about this monkey amigurumi is the white beard.  Instead of using something like cotton for the beard, we just decided to go with felt.  Using something like cotton for the beard probably wouldn’t last as long.  After a while, it’d probably start losing hair (or cotton fibers) there!  That wouldn’t be good…  Cutting the beard was very easy.  All I did was cut out a square, folded it in half, and cut only one side of the beard so that it’d come out symmetrical.

We also made a Christmas tree topper this year too!

Like our random Christmas decorations?  There’s a ferris wheel, nutcracker, house, and big crystal cubes!  Our Santa Claus monkey amigurumi is so festive!  It makes all of our previous monkey amigurumis look plain!  Don’t worry, there’s still New Years to outdo this Santa Claus monkey amigurumi :]!!

Halloween Witch Monkey Amigurumi

It’s time to get into the Halloween spirit with our witch monkey amigurumi!  Yay!!!

witch-monkey-amigurumi-29

witch-monkey-amigurumi-29

We’ve been waiting many months for October to come.  Anything Halloween-themed is just so fun and exciting to do!  At first we only made one Halloween-themed monkey amigurumi, but then recently decided to make more.  Why not, right?  As for the other Halloween monkey amigurumis, we’ll keep you posted and up to date so stay tuned!

When it came to making this witch monkey amigurumi, we were stumped on how to make the broom.  But then one day when we went to the craft store, we spotted a large wooden/straw broom hanging on a shelf with a lot of other Halloween related decorations.  So we went back home, gathered some small twigs from the backyard, cut a wooden chopstick in half, tied the little twigs around it, and there you have it!!  Broom!

But anyway, enough about the broom.  For this witch monkey amigurumi we really wanted it to look like a witch–unmistakably like a witch.  So we used neon green felt for the face, chest, ears and purple yarn for the body.  Purple and green–the perfect witch colors right?

This monkey is so fancy too!  It even has this nice little witch hat with a pretty little green bow tied around it.  Janama’s pretty bow-tying skills.  :)   If you look closely, the cape isn’t just a regular cape.  I had to sit there and cut out tiny triangles from the edges of the cape so that it’d look more witch-like.

Looks like our little witch has a minion–Skeletroll!  Witch monkey named it…not me.  :] I don’t come up with dumb names like that!

What kind of monkey business are they up to?  For some reason the monkey looks a bit evil in the picture above…how cute!  We love cute but dangerous things~ :D

Fourth of July Monkey Amigurumi

Let’s celebrate Independence Day with a festive Fourth of July monkey amigurumi!!!

fourth-of-july-monkey-amigurumi-8

fourth-of-july-monkey-amigurumi-8

Yep, you guessed it!  Another monkey to kick off the start of a new month.  No, we will not stop until we have completed all twelve monkeys for all twelve months of the year.  It just wouldn’t be fair or right if we just decided to leave out the rest of the months and their representative monkey amigurumis now would it?  :)

fourth-of-july-monkey-amigurumi-7

fourth-of-july-monkey-amigurumi-7

So here we have our Fourth of July monkey amigurumi in the signature Uncle Sam pointing at YOU pose.  He wants YOU and so does the monkey!  Does our monkey successfully resemble the poster in the background?  We even tried to coordinate the colors of the monkey to match Uncle Sam’s outfit.  We used an off-white colored felt to give the monkey an overall old school look.  Of course, to make it more festive we gave it a nice and crazy Fourth of July hat–that was very time consuming and painstaking to make.

fourth-of-july-monkey-amigurumi-15

fourth-of-july-monkey-amigurumi-15

This is the top of the hat…very festive right?  :D   First we crocheted the standard top hat and then cut out strips of white and blue felt which were glued directly onto the hat.  Then we used sequin stars to decorate the rest of it.  We even included a little bling on his hat with small crystal accents between the stars.

The standard home-made flag.  Made possible by the combined efforts of a nice printer, toothpick, and tacky glue!

Our Fouth of July monkey is a very busy little monkey amigurumi.  He may look carefree and all, but he’s busily planning away a July 4th celebration on his computer!  Yes, an old school computer for an old school monkey.

He’s sending out invitations to his Fourth of July party.  Will you be there?  Don’t worry, he’ll call you when the meat’s grilling away on his BBQ GrillMaster 7411 in the backyard.

fourth-of-july-monkey-amigurumi-10

fourth-of-july-monkey-amigurumi-10

No, he will NOT put down the flag.  Even when he’s grilling.

fourth-of-july-monkey-amigurumi-1

Our Fourth of July monkey amigurumi just loves America that much! <3

Father’s Day Monkey Amigurumi

For the Monkey of the Month of June, we would like to introduce to you a Father’s Day Monkey Amigurumi!  Mother had her month in May, so it would only be fair for Father to have his special time this month.

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-17

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-17

Here is the Father’s Day Monkey Amigurumi coming home from a hard day at work.  And yes, he carries around a cute little notebook with a heart on it in his suitcase…not by choice of course!  It must have been one of his kid’s pranks…

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-2

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-2

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-4

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-4

What I like best about this Father’s Day Monkey Amigurumi is his tie, which my sister designed and assembled out of felt.  We also experimented with a different color combination this time, using light blue as his face and dark blue for the body.  I think it makes him look rather manly and handsome, don’t you??

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-12

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-12

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-16

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-16

Mother is excited and ready to go shopping now that Father has come back.

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-14

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-14

What’s this?!  All of a sudden, Father is ambushed by his troublesome son (nicknamed “Chipmunk” for his chubby cheeks) who can’t wait to eat the strawberry shortcake he helped bake with Mother.  (Side note: the strawberry shortcake was crocheted out of the same yarn as my Baby Whale Amigurumis.  Will post about that later for sure, as I am still working on “baking” other types of cakes!)

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-18

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-18

Now his daughter joins in on the fun with a Father’s Day present she hopes will not disappoint!  The present, by the way, she wrapped last minute right before he came home, anticipating she’d have plenty of time to do so while he does his “sit in the bathroom with newspaper after a hard day’s work” ritual.

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-15

father's-day-monkey-amigurumi-15

“Stop monkeying around and come down from your father’s head, Chipmunk.  Let’s celebrate Father’s Day properly!”  Mother scolds.  And with that, the monkey amigurumi family happily celebrates another lovely Father’s Day.

Happy Father’s Day!!!

Mother’s Day Monkey Amigurumi

Hey everyone it’s Mother’s Day!  Do anything special for mom today?

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-2

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-2

Going along with our little monkey of the month theme, we decided to make a Mother’s Day monkey amigurumi!  Surprise!!  Yeah, not much of a surprise but hey it’s a good idea especially if you’ve completely run out of gift ideas for mom this year.  Why not just make a hand-crafted and personalized monkey amigurumi for mom?  Moms always like what their children make them.  It’s like being back in elementary school and bringing home a teacher-forced-me-to in-class art project for Mother’s Day.  And with nothing else to do with it, mom will slap a magnet on it and show it off on the sustenance box:  the refrigerator!!!

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-3

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-3

Well, hopefully you don’t think of it that way!  :D   We love our mommies and I’m sure they’ll love anything you try to do to thank them.

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-5

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-5

But if you really want to do something personal and special for mom, then take the crochet mom a Mother’s Day amigurumi approach.

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-6

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-6

Of course, this monkey would not be considered a mom if it didn’t even have a kid monkey to go with it!

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-9

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-9

What do you think?  Does the apron on our Mother’s Day monkey amigurumi make it look motherly?

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-15

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-15

What’s mom going to bake today?  Cakes, cupcakes, pancakes?

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-13

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-13

How about all of the above.  :)   If any of you remember from my first few posts, those are NOT hats!!!  They are cakes!

They can hold hands too!  Well somewhat…

mother's-day-monkey-amigurumi-16

Oh, and don’t worry this family is still not complete yet!  Are we forgetting someone?  More monkey amigurumis to come!

Thanks to all of you for looking~ Happy Mother’s Day!  Maybe I should go and get a I<3MoM tattoo!  hahaa…ouch.
