Yes, we’ve beaten the dead horse with all of our monkey amigurumis–so now we’re moving on to rhinestone tiger amigurumi!! Yay~

We’ve been planning on making this rhinestone tiger amigurumi for a long time now. When we made our trip to Taiwan recently, we especially went to go buy ourselves multiple sheets of multiple-colored rhinestone sheet stickers. They’re supposed to be used to decorate the interior of your car, but who says you can’t use them on anything else?

I started gluing on the rhinestones one by one from the top of the head and worked my way all the way down. It was quite challenging since an amigurumi is not the flattest thing in the world to be gluing things on. I had to be very careful with the placement of the rhinestones too with all the stripey business going on. But it worked somehow! Or at least I forced it too haha.

The idea of covering our tiger amigurumi with rhinestones actually came from a friend of ours.
It was a VERY good idea and we’re glad we heeded their suggestion. Wonder if they remember suggesting it?

Remember our first tiger amigurumi? It looks so small compared to the rhinestone tiger amigurumi huh? All the glue and rhinestones really added some pounds to it!

This is what I looked like after gluing on two whole sheets of rhinestones. I don’t know if I really want to do that again…haha. Or maybe I do? What do you think? What would you like to see plastered with rhinestones?!

I know it’s way late, but Happy Dragon Chinese New Year – and now let’s celebrate with a Chinese Dragon Amigurumi!! I actually made this Chinese dragon amigurumi last year, and if you liked my Facebook page you’ve probably seen it already. Sorry if it’s a repeat for some of you, but I thought it just had to be a part of my blog too!

Making this Chinese dragon amigurumi was like making a mini-Bowser. I never really realized it before, but Chinese dragons have deer antlers – did YOU know that? What do they need antlers for anyway? I just crocheted small tubes and sewed one perpendicularly in the middle part of the other and attached the combined unit to the head.

Are we in a tropical mood yet? Let’s just drop everything and go to Hawaii!!! A little late with the monthly posting but here we go!

Exactly one year ago, we took a family trip to Hawaii for a week, so to remember the fun times I decided to make a Hawaiian monkey amigurumi. When I got to thinking of what to do for the month of August, nothing came to mind but summery things and warm beachy places….like Hawaii!

Yes, we can do other things besides monkey amigurumis…like a tiger amigurumi!

tiger-amigurumi-4
This tiger amigurumi is supposed to go along with the Chinese zodiac theme, but it seems like we’ll be doing the animals out of order and depending on our mood. I mean who can resist a tiger in the middle of the rabbit year? If we seriously decided to post the animal of the year in order and in a timely fashion then you’d have to stay tuned for another eleven years!! Yep, crazy indeed. But if you’d like to stick around for that long then you are more than welcome to!

So here is the side view of our tiger amigurumi…nice and round from all the rabbits he ate. Ha ha, no tigers eat better things… like human food!

For the Monkey of the Month of June, we would like to introduce to you a Father’s Day Monkey Amigurumi! Mother had her month in May, so it would only be fair for Father to have his special time this month.

Here is the Father’s Day Monkey Amigurumi coming home from a hard day at work. And yes, he carries around a cute little notebook with a heart on it in his suitcase…not by choice of course! It must have been one of his kid’s pranks…
